FYI, y’all:
The results of more than a century of anthropological research on households, kinship relationships, and families, across cultures and through time, provide no support whatsoever for the view that either civilization or viable social orders depend upon marriage as an exclusively heterosexual institution. Rather, anthropological research supports the conclusion that a vast array of family types, including families built upon same-sex partnerships, can contribute to stable and humane societies.
“The counsel for the Prop 8 supporters got himself in trouble– from an anthropological perspective– every time he made a statement about inherent characteristics of marriage. He should have asked an anthropologist.”

There should be more scientists in politics
The National Assembly of the French revolution included a set number of seats designated for scientists… and artists, poets, tradesmen…
I’m OT but wondering whether you are posting your review of Jock Young’s ‘The Criminological Imagination’? I know it’s due to be published soon but wondering if it’s going to make an appearance?
You should be able to find it on my website, under the Publications tab. Or just follow this link: https://kevinkarpiak.wordpress.com/?attachment_id=388
I wish I could have read this BEFORE having to read that book. You gave a lot of insight I could have done with before delving into Young’s insanity.
